The category of identity, as one of the most important characteristics of individuals and social groups, has a special place. An individual's knowledge of his or her identity and the factors affecting it ensure the health of the individual and social life of individuals in society and reduce the rate of committing crimes and deviations and the occurrence of social harm. The present study is a percentage response to the question of what are the factors affecting the formation of human identity from the perspective of Islam and psychology. A descriptive-analytical study of this issue shows that the factors affecting the formation of human identity include internal and external factors, including family, friends, and will. Although Islam's view of these factors is very comprehensive and complete, considering material and spiritual effects, some recommendations have been mentioned to strengthen these factors by considering the main purpose of creation, which is the rapprochement of man. From the perspective of psychology, the material effects that are obtained through experience are examined with the goals of personal and worldly interests.
